The White Rabbit Cafe and Patisserie has scheduled their annual spring cleaning where downtown Greensburg will be without their coffee and pastries for a week.
From March 10-17, they will be closed for a deep clean and basic maintenance. No major renovations or changes are planned for during the shut down but there will be new hours when they reopen on the 18th.
Starting March 24, The White Rabbit will be open on Sundays from 8am-4pm.
“We’ve always known we were eventually going to open on Sundays,” said owner Tommy Medley. “We’ll be here working on a Sunday and have multiple people trying to come in. We expect to be pretty busy.”
Not many businesses are open on Sunday so this will be a welcome addition. With only a couple other places being open, there’s not a lot of options for after church coffee or getting together with family and friends for a pastry.
After being open for 5 years, the decision to be open on Sundays was an easy one to make.
“We weren’t financially comfortable to staff a Sunday but we’ve finally gotten to that point where we have a handle on things and it makes sense,” said Medley. “This will help us be debt free in 4 years.”
Since November 2013, their espresso machine has produced over 325,000 shots of espresso. With the addition of Sundays that number is expected to quickly increase. While no major additions will be done to the current menu, recently they’ve been having new items on their rotating pastry selections. Springerle and savory or sweet pastelitos have been favorites of some of the newer items they’ve added.
So mark your calendars for Sunday, March 24!
It would be nice to have a few breakfast items on the menu. My friends and I like to do breakfast after Sunday morning mass.
