Regularly scheduled Council meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Special meetings, Planning Commission and Zoning are held on an as-needed basis.

All meetings are open to the public and are held in Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Greensburg City Hall.

Form of Government

The City of Greensburg, incorporated in 1926, is a Home Rule Municipality governed by a Charter passed by the voters in 1988 and is represented by a Mayor, who serves as President of Council and the Director of the Department of Public Safety and four City Council members.  Each official is elected for overlapping four-year terms with elections taking place every two years.  All Council members are at large, part-time officials overseeing departments as determined by the Mayor that include:  Accounting and Finances; Administration, Development and Public Operations; Public Works and Parks and Recreation.  Elected officials are part-time and do not have regular office hours at City Hall.  The appointed City Administrator handles the day-to-day operations of the City at City Hall under the direction of Mayor and Council.  General information may be obtained at the City Administration office at 724-838-4324.

City Administrator:

Appointed by the Mayor and City Council, the City Administrator manages the day-to-day operations of the City of Greensburg under the direction of the Mayor and City Council. The City Administrator serves the elected City officials and the community by administering local government projects and programs on their behalf.  Duties include recruitment, hiring and supervising of City staff and the coordination of efforts and communication within City departments, and with other government officials and agencies on Local, State and Federal levels, local merchants and non-profits, and businesses in the community at-large.
