Your Official Shop Small Business Guide to Downtown Greensburg

Supporting small businesses has become our passion. We love shining a spotlight on the quality of goods and services we have right here in Greensburg. Small business owners have a dedication, passion, and determination to bring quality goods and services to their community. The Small Business Saturday® campaign gives consumers the opportunity to shop small – supporting these businesses in one of the most important ways we can – through our purchases.

Walking down the streets of downtown Greensburg you’ll see the smiling faces people you know and walking into shops is like stopping to catch up with a friend. Finding the perfect gift for someone on your gift list is not only fun but rewarding because your  purchase helps that business grow.

When you shop small you get the chance to find unique, quality items that you just don’t see in department stores. Some pieces that were even made right where we live by people we know. Shopping small is knowing that your money is going back into the community you live, work and play.

What is Shop Small & Small Business Saturday?

Shop Small is an initiative started in 2010 by American Express to focus on the small business owners within communities across the nation. Every year the Saturday after Thanksgiving, their goal is to get the people of the communities shopping and supporting their local small businesses.

Small businesses survive from the support of the communities around them. Unlike large chain stores and franchises, the owners of these businesses are most times from the community itself. For them, the customers they serve are more than their next purchase: Each customer is a neighbor, friend or fellow small business owner. Supporting them is supporting our community.

The Downtown Greensburg Project will be set up in the parklet on S. PA Ave with downtown Greensburg maps, a listing of local deals and activities, raffle tickets to win two tickets to Hamilton plus 5 local vendors selling their wares. Come shop the boutiques and our vendors, Angie Shaw – Art with A, V Jennings Art, Betty Jane Natural Soap, Artwork by Melissa Reed, Darn Cute Yarn.

Think! Greensburg will have a table at The Westmoreland at their Family Day with maps and a local listing of deals and activities.

I have a small business in Greensburg. I would like to participate in advertising opportunities that you offer.
I have had a business in this town since 1989 in various locations. I rarely get asked to participate in events, realizing that it’s probably because I am off the beaten path. I would just appreciate the opportunity to participate. Thank you.
