Monday, August 14

Sound Bath @ The Space

Join Gabby for relaxation and rejuvenation starting at 7 p.m. Sit back and relax while listening to the sounds of crystal singing bowls, Tibiten singing bowls, a wooden flute, wind chimes and rain sticks. Registration is required and costs $15 per person. Learn more.

Munchkins, Music and Me!

This class offered by Practice Makes Perfect Music Studio at The Trendy Bunny studio is focused on getting kids ages six months to four years old exposed to music. This class runs in four week increments and costs $20 a week for drop-ins or $50 per month. Start Making Sense – Talking Heads Tribute

In the late 1970s, Scottish-American singer-songwriter David Byrne took advantage of the artistic freedom available in New York City’s burgeoning New Wave movement and pioneered a sound that mixed punk, funk, art rock and world music. Public Art Day

Learn about Public Art in the community, including the Museum’s new Community Art Exchange Station, watch “The Chalking Dad” Erik Greenawalt create a one-of-a-kind chalk art installation on the Museum’s grounds, and create your own chalk art, too! Mini Musicians

Mini Musicians is a course offered by the Practice Makes Perfect Music Studio at Green Beacon that is specially designed for children between the ages of 4 and 8. The class teaches the musical alphabet, basic note reading and basic rhythms. Students will also have hands-on experience with the piano, string, brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Students who take this course qualify for a discount on private lessons. Classes will be August 5, 12, 19, and 26 t 2 p.m. Cost of the class is $20/week or $50 for 4 weeks. Learn more.

Brass Transit

The eight-piece band was formed about five years ago when a trumpet player had a vision for a one-night performance of Chicago songs by a band composed of all the best session musicians in Southern Ontario. Along with the energy of the performance, it is also the goal of the band to replicate the Chicago sound perfectly.
