Listening Session: Rock n’ Rock Hall of Fame

Nwaka Onwusa, Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, leads an interactive conversation and listening session celebrating the overwhelming musical explosion, creativity and impact of rock n’ roll music during the ’60s and ’70s. Revisit familiar sounds that shaped the culture while uncovering stories and sounds that helped to challenge and propel rock n’ roll further. Tickets are $8 members and $10 for non-members. TGIS – Free Outdoor Concert Series 

While supporting local talent, patrons can enjoy a summer of live music for FREE every Thursday evening! Beginning at 4:30 come down to the S&T Bank Courtyard and listen to East Coast Turnaround Full Acoustic Band (southern rock, blues & soul) with food provided by Elegant Catering!

Real Men Wear Pink Reveal Party

Twelve Westmoreland and Fayette County community leaders who have accepted the challenge to fight breast cancer by participating in the Third Annual Real Men Wear Pink campaign will be introduced during a special Reveal Party at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art on Thursday, August 22, 2019. The event runs from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and features hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and entertainment.  The event is open to the public and admission is $25 per person, or a $25 donation to the Real Men Wear Pink man of your choice. You can pay at the door or buy your ticket in advance at realmenwearpinkacs.org/westmorelandcopa.

Stage Right Season Auditions

STAGE RIGHT! 2019-2020 21st Professional Season Audition, Saturday, August 24, 2019 – 3:00pm-7:00pm. They are seeking, Non-Equity and Equity actors for various roles in our upcoming 2019-2020 season. (This company secures Tier 1 Guest Artist contracts for a limited number AEA artists per show.) Stage Right current students and ANY prospective students are welcome to audition, however ALL students must be enrolled in a class during the semester that the show falls in to to be cast in the show.

Yoga Under the Stars

With our friend Sarah Just leading this totally one-of-a-kind Vinyasa experience, you’re in for a BYOM, all-levels class that’ll loosen up those tight spots in no time. The soft evening light leading into the stars shining from the sky sets the perfect mood for any yogis hoping to find inner peace. Join us on the top floor of Robert Bell Parking Garage in downtown Greensburg on July 20 from 8:00-9:00pm for Yoga Under the Stars. Located at 106 W. Otterman St. there is plenty of parking available, you can take the elevator up to the top level. Please bring your own mat and don’t forget your water, class will begin promptly at 8:00pm.

Photography Workshop for High School Students

The Westmoreland Historical Society is proud to announce a free student photography workshop presented by the Westmoreland Photographers Society. This two-day workshop will provide high school students with an in-depth, hands-on learning experience focused on creating, processing, and exhibiting photographs. Led by the president of the Westmoreland Photographers Society, this program will give student learners the opportunity to take their skills to the next level. Registration is required and space is limited.
