Vegas came to Greensburg and didn’t disappoint

The Westmoreland Cultural Trust pulled at all the stops for their Party at The Palace Vegas Style event last night and did not disappoint.

From the second we walked up the red carpet to enter The Palace Theatre, we knew that this would be one of the best events they’ve ever thrown. Throwing it back to old Vegas, the VIP hour on The Palace stage was a site to behold with the Flamingo theme, bright pinks, feather boas and sparking pink champagne greeted VIP ticket holders before the main party began.

The main party started out with an exciting performance by the Stage Right Sensations on the grand staircase. Dressed in red and black the group put on an upbeat and Vegas worthy show to get the party started.

Elton John (Lee Alverson) began the night in the Grand Casino (Megan Suite) performing hit after hit while guests munched on food from local restaurants. The heavy hors’ devours from J Corks, Bean & Baguette, Anatolia Turkish Cuisine, Caffe Barista and more were scattered throughout the suite, with many of the restaurants upping the ante with their delicious dishes, bringing something unique to the event.

“The Party at The Palace was awesome,” said Donnie Zappone, Greensburg City Council Member. “The atmosphere they had with the Vegas theme was terrific and everyone put in a ton of work for an event that had a great turnout and crowd!”

Aubrey Burchell as Lady Gaga impressed the crowd with many hits throughout the evening as party goers stepped up to the tables to bet ‘money’ while playing blackjack, crapes and other casino games. The bar was busy with many people grabbing a Sobel Obscure Brewery beer or a glass of wine from Vinoski Winery. The ever popular Cigar Tent in the S&T Bank Courtyard was packed all night with Nelson Loguasto offering a variety of cigars to try.

Elvis, Vaughn Hudspath, serenaded all the lovers in the Palace Chapel and helped 13 couples renew their vows. Each part of the chapel was beautifully decorated by Le Jardin Florals and delicious Vegas themed cookies adorned the cookie tables along with some traditional Pittsburgh cookie table staples.

The Westmoreland Cultural Trust took their annual event to another level this year so mark it on your calendar for next year so you don’t miss out!
