The Greensburg Night Market expands again and will host over 100 vendors

The Greensburg Night Market is expanding their footprint for the second time this year and adding a 4th block to the popular event in downtown Greensburg.

In its 4th year, the GNM expanded from 1 block to 3 blocks down South Pennsylvania Avenue, shutting down the street for the first time in over 20 years for a community event. The Greensburg Night Market has averaged 80 vendors and over 5000 attendees each market this season. The market will now span 4 blocks and host over 100 vendors for the remaining dates.

“The response this year for the Greensburg Night Market has been incredible,” said Downtown Greensburg Project owner, Jessica Hickey. “Our original plan was to expand to the 4th block next year but we decided to just go ahead and do it for the second half of this season.”

The fourth block, located on South Pennsylvania Avenue between West 3rd and 4th Streets, will host 20 new vendors and live music.

“We’re so excited to have over 100 vendors for the remainder of our markets for this year,” said Hickey. “We have some really great new vendors that will be set up and we’re happy to be able to host even more great small local businesses.”

All spaces for the new block are already filled. Most vendors were pulled from the GNM’s current waitlist and a couple new ones were added to fill in missing products.

“We have a long waitlist to get in so we tried to pull as much as we could from there with out having too many of the same products,” said Hickey. “We’re particular about what we have at the market and try to make sure that the vendors that are there are ones that will be successful. Based on our demographics we choose specific vendors and products to be there that we know will attract attendees and will sell well.”

Vendors are chosen first off by product type then get determined by what is already available at the market, if the product will sell well based on the demographics and based on the vendor social media presence and product photos.

“We know a lot of small businesses are wanting to get into the market and we try to bring in as many of them as we can,” said Hickey.
