Your voice matters. The 8th Annual Men’s March, organized by the Blackburn Center, to put an end to all forms of gender based violence is this Saturday from 10am-2pm at Offutt Field. Men, (and women and children,) be courageous and take a stand! Accompany the 1,100+ walkers that show their support by walking in high heels (yes, men in high heels) in the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event. Speak out, break the stereotypes, and help raise money for the center and awareness.

It’s not too late to register. Swing by Offutt Field at 9:00am to register, then start the walk at 10:00am. T-shirts are available for the event, but are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also, high heels will be provided at the event for those that do not have any. Men, women, and children are all welcome at the March! Let your voice be heard.

The Blackburn Center is an organization that supports victims of sexual and domestic abuse with shelter, counseling, and advocacy services. Every year, thousands of people reach out to the Center for help. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner. On any typical day, there are more than 200,000 phone calls placed to domestic abused hotlines. All proceeds from the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event will go to the Blackburn Center, helping them to succeed in their goal of helping those suffering from abuse.
