Sundays on Pittsburgh Street, an event hosted monthly by the Downtown Greensburg Project and Hugo’s Taproom this summer is collecting school supplies for Greensburg Salem at their August 11th event.
This Sunday funday event from 2-6pm will be held at 116 West Pittsburgh Street, which is the parking lot below Hugo’s. It will feature live music from local band The Lazy Susan, an outdoor bar, yard games and food trucks Just Roll’d Up, Ash & Kris, Pit Take BBQ and McFeely’s Ice Cream.
The same event held in June and July featured Keystone Bulldog Rescue of SWPA where they raised money by having a Kiss a Bully booth and raffles. For this weekend’s event organizers wanted to collect school supplies like they did last year at Hugo’s during the month of August.
“Last year we had a school supply collection box at Hugo’s and if someone brought in supplies they would get a discount on a drink,” said Jessica Hickey, director of the Downtown Greensburg Project. “This time we wanted to collect more and have a bigger event to make that happen.”
Sundays on Pittsburgh Street is open to anyone and is family and dog friendly. They will be collecting the following items for Greensburg Salem:
- Girls and boys backpacks
- #2 pencils
- Plastic pencil boxes
