There will soon be another small business shop opening right here in Downtown Greensburg! State of Virginia, a new women’s boutique located at 121 West Pittsburgh St, will be opening this Sunday, November 22 at 11am!

Named after owner Virginia Clara (or, “Ginny” as many know her), State of Virginia will offer “special, fun everyday clothes” perfect for casual dates, meeting up with friends, or just hanging out! According to Ginny, the store’s name is also a play on words.

“If you come in and you look at everything in here,” said Clara. “It’s things that I would wear, things that I like. It’s sort of a taste of things that I love.”

Ginny has always loved clothes and boutique shopping, and has been interested in opening her own boutique for a very long time. She is also the owner of Clarabella Beauty Bar here in Greensburg, and was inspired to begin her new venture into retail ownership amidst the COVID-19 shutdown because she realized the importance of branching out.

“This year, with the shutdown, and being a salon owner…it really showed me that I needed to diversify,” said Clara.

Though Ginny’s primary goal with State of Virginia is to get the shop up and running successfully, her next move is to launch her online store so customers can shop from their homes as well as at the store.

“It’ll be a learning process,” Clara said. “but I’m excited for it!”

State of Virginia will be open Tuesday-Friday from 12-6pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm! Through Christmas, they will also be open on Sunday afternoons.
