Stage Right! 2nd Summer Musical Theatre Camp Productions this weekend at WCCC Science Hall Theatre

For Immediate Release: Greensburg, PA: Stage Right’s second summer camp will culminate with a weekend of performances at the Science Hall Theatre at the Westmorland County Community College in Youngwood.

For the past 3 weeks, 90 campers have been taking classes and rehearsing at the Stage Right studios in downtown Greensburg. During that time, in addition to studying acting, voice, dance and acro with Stage Right’s professional staff, the students also received visits and master classes from Broadway performers; Allan Snyder and Lori Maranacci, as
well as, CMU voice teacher Claudia Benack and local professional actors; Daina Griffith and David Cabot.

As part of the camp experience, each age group rehearses and gets to perform a fully-produced production. For this camp, the preteen students will be performing the Disney classic “Beauty and the Beast jr.” and the teens will be performing Stephen Schwartz and, Pittsburgh native, John- Michael Tebelak’s “Godspell”. Each group has been working hard to get their show ready.

Founding Artistic Director Tony Marino: “Summer camps are such a great experience for the kids. The sense of community that is created, the friendships that develop and the support they offer each other is really a beautiful thing. Plus, the talent! In both age groups, the level of accomplishment and the desire to learn is remarkable. We have a really
strong group of kids who are making these shows and this experience something very special. Come see the magic they create”

Of the 90 attendees, the camp includes 10 scholarship winners from the Westmoreland Night of the Stars. “Beauty and the Beast Jr” will be performed Friday July 26 at 6:30 and Saturday July 27 at 2:00 and 6:30. “Godspell” will be performed Friday July 26 at 8:30, Saturday July 27 at 8:30 and Sunday July 28 at 2:00.
