S. PA Ave Parklet is Ready for Gatherings

For the last few years we’ve been wanting to cleanup the parklet on S. PA Ave and this past weekend we finally did! With the help of 24 volunteers we weeded, cleaned up, planted new plants and laid down fresh mulch. It was hot outside but the end result was worth it and we can’t wait to see more people gather in the parklet and use the space. We had a wonderful gardening leader with our friend Amie Gillingham who is a master gardener and garden designer. She volunteered her time to visit the parklet multiple times before the event to plan out the new plants and get together a list of the materials we needed. Without her we wouldn’t have been able to make the parklet as beautiful as it is!

Thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers and those who donated! Including local businesses, Wellness on the Point, Top Cote, Satya Yoga, Clarabella Beauty Bar, The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library, and the City Administrator.

Another big thanks to Flat Tire Co. Bike Shop for helping out and letting us borrow water jugs and other materials, Bortz Hardware Company who helped us with anything we needed the day of the cleanup, TK Property Maintenance, who donated, delivered and spread all of the mulch, Willoway Nurseries for donating plants, Schultheis Brothers, Jordan Hauser Digital for filming the day (video coming soon,)  Savvy Shots Photography for taking photos, McFeely’s Gourmet Chocolate for bringing us ice cream to cool off and Hugo’s Taproom for giving all the volunteers (over 21) a free drink after we were done!
