At Main Street Sweets, soon to be located in the basement level, across from the county courthouse next to Yumzio Bistro, renovations are in full swing. The store front has been vacant for many years and owner, Nicole Nickischer, is planning a full renovation of the Greensburg space. There will be two entrances, one on Main Street and the other located on East Otterman Street right up from Mr. Toad’s.

“We chose Greensburg because it is our home,” said Nicole Nickischer, Main Street Sweets’ owner. “I have 5 kids who all go to school in Hempfield and we love the area.”

Main Street Sweets will specialize in over the top milkshakes made with local ice cream from Kerber’s Dairy in Irwin. 12 speciality milkshakes including, S’mores, Cinnamon Churro, Pina Colada, Almond Joy, Salted Caramel and Unicorn, topped with lots of goodies like candy and cake will be on the menu. 3 basic shakes in Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry plus a Vegan shake will round out the menu.

Anyone with a sweet tooth will love popping into the new shop to explore their wide variety of candy which includes retro candies, international candies, long time favorites and things you have never seen before.

“Downtown Greensburg is a nice little town full of culture and character,” said Nickischer. “I am excited to be a part of it. I chose the location because it is right in the heart of downtown.”
