Nevin Arena to Host Humane Society Fundraiser

The Kirk S. Nevin Arena in Greensburg will be hosting a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Westmoreland County (HSWC) Sunday, January 27 from 2-4pm.

Ice Skate for the Animals is a public skating fundraising event where $1 of each admission will be donated to the Humane Society. There will be opportunities to purchase raffle tickets 50/50 tickets and to win prizes.  Paying families will be entered in a Door Prize Drawing for Free Skating Passes, Gift Cards and Cash Prizes! All monies raised from those activities will also benefit HSWC.

The Humane Society, located on 119N beyond Lynch Field, is a full service facility that offers low cost clinics for sick dog/cats, low cost spays and neuters, full time vets and Humane Agents. There is a converted farmhouse for cats and kitten rescues and a kennel for dogs and puppies that are ready to be adopted into their forever homes! The HSWC is a non-profit that relies on monetary donations for all of its needs. This fundraiser is one of 2 they’ve had in the last couple of weeks in Greensburg. The first one being a guest bartending event at J Corks.

Admission cost to skate is $6 for adults, $5 for children under 17, $5 for seniors. To rent skates it is $3. The Snack Bar at Nevin Arena will also be open for skaters to purchase snacks during the event.

The Kirk S. Nevin Arena offers public skate time to the community Monday – friday from 10am-12pm, Wednesday & Friday 1:15pm-3:15pm, Friday & Saturday 8pm-10pm and Sundays from 2pm-4pm.
