Looking for a good time? Like drinking beer? The Mammoth Beer Mile & 5k, produced by Flat Tire Co. and sponsored by Rivertowne Brewing, is the perfect event for you. The 3rd annual event is being held at Westmoreland County Fairgrounds on March 24th, 2018. With a 5k run, a beer mile, a beer mile relay, and of course an after party, there’s something for everyone!
Join Flat Tire Co. for the Rivertowne Brewing Mammoth Beer Mile & 5k, to raise funds for the Rotary of Westmoreland. Practice your chugging technique for the beer mile, grab a few of your friends and make a team for the beer mile relay, or simply do the 5k! Sounds like a great time, huh? Each participant will get a t-shirt, a beer cup, an after-party entry, a drawstring bag and 1 beer ticket. Feeling athletic? Register for the beer mile and 5k or the beer mile relay and 5k. Don’t wait, the last day for registration is March 19th (if tickets don’t sell out before then) and tickets are only $35! Hurry while they last. There will be no day of registration.
“With this being our third annual event, we wanted to make sure we brought back a local brewery to supply the beer,” said Ashely Reefer, owner of Flat Tire Co. “We are happy to be partnering with Rivertowne Brewing and to have them as our title sponsor.”
Have no idea what a beer mile is? The most common format of the beer mile requires a single participant to drink a 12oz beer, run a quarter mile, then repeat the process three times. This results in the consumption of four beers and the running of four quarter miles (hence the beer mile). The entire process is timed. Rivertowne Brewing will be suppling their beer, EZ American Golden Lager, for the beer mile portion. Think you can handle it? Get your game face on and get competitive!
“This event allows us to continue our goal of supporting the communities in which we work and live,” said Dan Howell, President Elect of the Rotary of Westmoreland. “The time we put into the Mammoth Beer Mile is just like the approach for many of our other events. We keep it fun.”
Keep the party going after you run, the after party starts at 11am in tents at the Grandstands with beer, food trucks, yard games and a DJ from PowerBomb Entertainment playing your favorite jams. Not into the 5k and beer mile? Get a ticket to just the after party! Individuals will receive a shirt, beer cup, an after-party entry, a drawstring bag and 1 beer ticket. It will be a tap takeover of Rivertowne brews, sponsored by Preferred Settlement Solutions, Wellness on the Point, and Janney.
Think you have what it takes? What’re you waiting for, sign up now! Don’t miss out on a day full of fun events, lots of beer, and entertainment all for a great cause.
