Henry’s Hoagies opens on West Second Street in downtown Greensburg

After having their opening delayed for more than a year due to construction halting at the start of the pandemic, Henry’s Hoagies officially opened their doors on March 2nd, 2021. Located in Unit A at 16 West Second Street, this cold cut hoagie shop is a must try.

Because of the work owners Henry and Holly have done on the building, you would not think that just four years ago the place sat empty and practically abandoned. Now, with new countertops and some fresh paint along with countless other upgrades all performed by the owners themselves, the building gives off a modern vibe, perfect for your lunch break.

Henry and Holly both moved to Greensburg from just out of town. Working originally in a butcher shop and healthcare respectively, the couple would make hoagies for friends and family members to be brought to parties/events. “The people we knew liked them so much that we eventually decided we should start making them for everyone”, said Holly.

They offer an extensive choice of fresh meats and produce, sourced locally from Laurel Hills Provisions. Their bread is fresh as well, but its source is kept a secret. Meat, produce, and bread alike are sliced by hand each morning. This, coupled with Henry’s experience as a butcher, makes their meats and produce a cut above the rest. You can experience their ingredients through numerous menu options that include four varieties of pepperoni rolls in addition to their selection of eight inch hoagies.

Alongside Hoagies, Henry’s serves two soups that may vary daily, and chips soda and candy all for one dollar. You may also opt to make any soup, pepperoni roll, or hoagie a combo meal that includes chips and a drink for an additional $1.50. Vegetarian and gluten free options are currently in the process of becoming available.

The community is thrilled to have Henry’s Hoagies as a new lunch staple in the center of downtown Greensburg, as was evident during their soft opening, where they sold over 50 hoagies! And although they are not originally from the area, Henry and Holly have four children who go to school locally. Their youngest daughter, Katie, is a hoagie fanatic, and coined the hashtag; #coldhoagiesforlife.

Henry and Holly of Henry’s Hoagies have perfected the art of the Hoagie, and are thrilled to be sharing their hard work with such  a supporting community, such as Greensburg.
