Greensburg Night Market adds on two Holiday Markets

The Downtown Greensburg Project is excited to announce the addition of 2 Holiday Markets this year as an offshoot of the popular Greensburg Night Market.

The new Greensburg Holiday Market will be hosted on Sunday, November 29 and Sunday, December 20 from 12-4pm on Pennsylvania Avenue, where the Night Markets usually take place. Some vendors from previous markets will be in attendance as well as a number of new ones.

“We were throwing the idea around of adding a couple markets on all summer,” said Jessica Hickey, director of the Downtown Greensburg Project. “After talking to a lot of our vendors and people who attend the Night Markets, it was an easy decision to add them.”

Because of the ease of setup on a slow afternoon in town, the weather and lighting, the decision to change the market from a Thursday to Sundays for the Holiday version was easy. Also, the December 20 Holiday Market is scheduled in conjunction with the annual Holiday Open House and Customer Appreciation Day that many of the shops and boutiques participate in.

“We considered doing the Holiday Markets on Thursday like usual but after speaking with some of the shops and thinking about the weather, Sunday was the best option,” said Hickey. “We’re excited to have a market the same day as the Holiday Open House event, this will really give shoppers a bunch of wonderful options between the shops and the market to pick up some last minute Christmas gifts.”

Many shops and boutiques in downtown Greensburg will hold their 52nd Annual Downtown Greensburg Holiday Open House and Customer Appreciation Day from noon to 5 p.m. Offering shopping hours on a Sunday is a way for independent business operators to thank their customers.
