Children’s online boutique, The Trendy Bunny, to open Greensburg storefront

Another business is opening in downtown Greensburg this fall! The Trendy Bunny, an online children’s boutique plans to open November 1st on South Pennsylvania Avenue.

Owner, Alisha Edwards, started The Trendy Bunny in 2016 as a way to diversify and sell online while being part owner of Locally Raised Little Ones, a pop up children’s boutique. Edwards wanted to bring something new to the baby game and designed a website that ships directly from manufacturers to her customers. She’s selected every piece and kept overhead expenses to a minimum to allow parents to purchase boutique clothing at a bulk store price.

“As a mom of five I know all to well how expensive baby clothing can be,” said Edwards. “I wanted to tell a story through my products and allow parents to have an opportunity to buy a beautiful romper for $24 and love it just as much as a piece that would typically cost $64.”

Though the retail industry is tough, Edwards chose to open her first storefront in downtown Greensburg after out growing two different offices in three years. Because of the growing community and recent uptick of development it was the perfect time to find a space. Through word of mouth, she met with Suzanne Ward of City Cribs LLC, who is part owner of 136 S. PA Ave and knew it was the space she was looking for.

“I could not be happier with the location of the new store,” said Edwards. “The building is GORGEOUS! I get to work along side some amazing women and am so grateful for this space.”

Edwards plans on having an open space where customers can expect to find everything from a newborn onesie to a 6 foot custom made nursery sign. She’s curated products from all over and rarely orders the same products year round. The latest trends for baby clothing and accessories plus decor for a nursery or play room will fill the boutique.

The Trendy Bunny will be housed on the back side of 136 S PA Ave facing McKeon Way in the bottom level of the building. They plan to be open mid-fall after renovations of their space. Wight Elephant Boutique, who is in the S PA facing storefront is slated to open soon and Downtown Greensburg Project will be opening their office in the same building in November.

“We’re really excited to have Trendy Bunny in our S PA Ave building and to help them open their store front in Greensburg,” said Suzanne Ward, City Cribs co-owner. “As a female business owner, it’s been great to fill our building with other women business entrepreneurs! Having the Wight Elephant, Trendy Bunny and Downtown Greensburg Project in one building will help bring jobs and visitors to Greensburg!”

The announcement of the Trendy Bunny opening a brick and mortar location in Greensburg is one of many new businesses coming to the city with a recent surge of redevelopment and interest in the downtown area.

“I can walk my youngest son Sawyer to story time at the library and carry all of my online orders to the post office in under a minute,” said Edwards. ” I’m excited to be a part of the business community in Greensburg, which is more then a cafe or a shop, it’s a story. I’m happy to have a new chapter in mine right here at home. My vision is that little ones will grow up with The Trendy Bunny.”
