Greensburg, PA: Stage Right Theatre Company will be bringing the beloved Halloween experience that is The Rocky Horror Show Live into a big top tent in their parking lot for two weekends this October. Shows are set for October 23, 24, 30, and 31, with all shows starting at 8pm. The cult musical that Stage Right has been staging annually for most of the last 20 Octobers, finds its home this year in a 40×80 big top tent that will provide plenty of chance to sit safely apart while still enjoying the experience together. Masks will be required into the tent, to your seats and while walking around, but you may drop them to watch the show. Founding Artistic Director Tony Marino:
“It was really important to us that if we were going to do this-we did it safely. So the tent is huge and will have sides rolled up to provide airflow, we are only selling 200 tickets per show, audience members will get chairs when they enter and will be sat in their pod, but safely distanced from other pods. We won’t be having the much-loved midnight shows either because of being in the middle of a neighborhood. We didn’t want to be rocking the parking lot at 2am! What won’t change is the blast people are going to have!”
Because of restrictions from the Actor’s Equity Union, Marino and his wife will not be allowed to perform this year, making only the 3rd time in their 24 year relationship that they will not be doing the show.
“That is very weird, but the cast we have assembled is tremendous, and the Sideshow/Freakshow theme we’re using is going to be incredibly fun.”
This year’s cast includes: one of Stage Right’s most beloved Frankenfurter’s, Kevin O’Leary, returning to do the role, joined by Stage Right favorites Katherine Harkins as Janet, Anthony Marino Jr. as Brad, Anna Stewart as Columbia, Courtney Harkins as Magenta, Greg Keresten as Riff Raff, Nick Lenz as Eddie/Dr. Scott, and newcomers Alex Podolinski as Rocky and Mike Hamilla as the Narrator. They will be joined by an ensemble of 15 other circus freaks and sideshow acts that will be lending a twisted and spooky feel to the evening.
Hot dogs, snacks, sweet treats and pizza will be sold in the parking lot during the show, as well as The Lamp Theatre’s delicious popcorn and beer from Marino’s American Eatery (no relation).
Tickets are $25 for reserved (10 first rows) and $20 for General Admission. Please go to www.stagerightgreensburg.com/shows or call Stage Right at 724.832.7464.
A nightly cash prize of $10 will be given to the best safety mask worn to the show – Stay safe and LET THERE BE LIPS!!!
