24th Annual Greensburg Community Days

Now that the rain has finally stopped it’s time for the 24th annual Greensburg Community Days festival held Memorial Day Weekend at Lynch Field. A few change ups this year with the festival being running Thursday – Saturday, May 24-26, along with a new carnival and fireworks vendor. Thursday and Friday opens at 6pm and Saturday opening at 2pm with free admission.

With rides, games a variety of tasty foods and a plethora of vendors, there is plenty to see and do for everyone this Memorial Day weekend. When entering the festival by the Aerobic Center at Lynch Field, you’ll pass the Greensburg Fire Department, offering demos, junior firefighter challenges and opportunities for the kids to explore and learn about fire trucks!

Head toward the right side of Lynch past the stage and visit the multiple craft, shopping and art vendors. The Greensburg Hempfield Area Libary’s tent has plenty of crafts, balloons and activities for kids, while there, learn about their summer programs and the importance of the library in our community.

The Beer Tent, which was added last year, a fundraiser for Greensburg Engine Co. 6, will change locations and be located by Nevin Arena instead of the middle of the field.

After you’ve worked up an appetite visiting the vendors, playing some games and riding rides, stop by one of the many food options along the Kirk S. Nevin Arena side of Lynch Field. Two of our favorite Greensburg food trucks are there, Funnel Cake Men, offering their delicious funnel cakes and deep fried oreos and Steel City Chimneys with their chimneys!

Wrap up the evening taking in the entertainment at the main stage and fireworks at 9:30pm Saturday night!

PARKING

Parking is not available at Lynch Field but there is a FREE shuttle bus service available that begins 6pm Thursday and Friday and 2pm on Saturday. You can grab the shuttle at the Robert A. Bell Garage in downtown Greensburg or at Nicely Elementary School. There is handicap parking available.

I was looking for my favorite vendor A&A Novelties that had great deals on shirts and hats every year. They were not there last night. I called today and found out management did not allow them to come back this year.
Bad decision. I will not be back!
