Locals and visitors alike enjoy shopping at the unique, quaint shops that make up the Historic Downtown Greensburg Shopping District, but sometimes can’t shop during the day due to work or school schedules. Now, shoppers can enjoy all Downtown Greensburg has to offer at Third Thursday, Shop & Stroll, the town’s special monthly shopping night, according to Amy Beeghly, President of the Greensburg Business & Professional Association.
Beginning in March, on the third Thursday of every month, merchants will remain open until 8 p.m. so anyone who can’t shop during the day, will now have an opportunity to discover the unique shops, boutiques, eateries and pubs that make up Downtown Greensburg.
Each monthly edition will have a theme, starting with the St. Patrick’s Day edition “Taste the Green” on March 17. Other themes tentatively planned, and dates include:
- April 21, Spring Fling;
- May 19, Patriotic Theme;
- June 16, Kick off to Summer Theme;
- July 21, Summer in the City;

One merchant that’s pleased with the decision that his fellow merchants stay open late is Kevin Miscik, owner of Lapels A Fine Mens Clothier, located at 106 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
“I have staying open late on Thursday’s for more than 19 years and it’s been very successful for Lapels,” said Miscik. “I am so thrilled that my fellow merchants are going to join me in this special shopping night in Greensburg.”
Miscik added that often his customers ask what other shops are open on Thursday nights, so he believes the extended shopping hours will not only be enjoyable for shoppers, but successful for this fellow merchants.
