Monday, September 23

Intermediate – Advanced Pottery with C.J. Witkowski 

Join the Greensburg Art Center for eight Mondays starting September 23 for intermediate to advanced pottery where you’ll be wheel-throwing and hand-building. Class runs from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Cost is $145 and includes 25 lbs of clay, firings and glazes. Register online or by calling 724-837-6791. Learn more.

Pastel Class with Cindy Berceli

This spirited class at the Greensburg Art Center offers many gems of information on technique and the application of pastels. You’ll experiment with different surfaces while working from still life and/or photos. Mega Money Bingo at The Venue Live!

Doors open at 5 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $40 and will be sold at the door. Admission includes: 120N Paper Package for Regular Games, 60N Paper for B-N-O, 60N Paper for Lucky 7, 60N Paper for Postage Stamps, 60N Paper for Jackpot, a free dauber, additional 60N regular games ($5) and additional 30N specials (all($5)). The Other Cinema Presents: The Void (2016) & The Ritual (2017)

The OTHER Cinema is returning with another pair of cinematic selections! This month is a double dose of Canadian Lovecraftian horror & British supernatural folk horror films. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the first film starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free, however, donations are graciously accepted. Exploring Hand-building in Clay with PJ Appleby 

Discover the joy and simplicity of hand-building in clay at the Greensburg Art Center. This class will guide you through hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, slab construction and coil building as well as how to combine and utilize the various techniques to create your own unique pieces. This class runs for eight Tuesdays from September 17 to November 5 starting at 6:30 p.m. This class is beginner level for ages 18+. Paint What You Like and Like What You Paint with Debbie King

This class at the Greensburg Art Center explores watercolor design, materials and techniques to achieve success while enjoying the process of creativity. Trivia Night at Oliver’s Pourhouse

Fall Equinox Workshop

Embrace the Fall Equinox with a workshop for balance, mindfulness and connection by Authentic Perspectives. It’s designed to help you find your own balance and embrace the season’s magic. You’ll learn the history and significance of the Fall Equinox, be guided through mediation, complete a craft, do a mindfulness exercise and more. Scotch Doubles Pool Tournament 

Join the Mutual Fire Hall every Tuesday at 7 p.m. for Scotch Doubles Pool Tournament. These tournaments are for fun as this is not a league. Cost is $5 for entry, there are no sign ups and teams are randomly generated. Arrive before 6:45 p.m. to play (Doors open at 5 p.m.). Learn more.

Rise & Shine Yoga with Red Brick Yoga

Join Red Brick early every Wednesday either on Zoom or in-studio for a 45 minute morning flow starting at 6:15 a.m. You must be registered within a half hour of class starting. Soul Music for Kids at The Space

Soul Music is a space for kids to explore music through listening and vocalizing to the frequencies of positive songs. This class can help develop your child’s language, cognitive abilities, emotional, social, and physical responses. This 45-minute class starts at 4 p.m., and is perfect for ages 8 and under (but all ages are welcome). Cost is $16 with an add-on special per sibling of $6 (Babies under 1 are free). Welcome Back Teacher Workshop

Active public school teachers are invited to The Westmoreland’s annual Welcome Back Teacher Workshop. Explore what’s new in the galleries through classroom-ready and hands-on activities. Teacher programs supported in part by contributions from businesses eligible for tax credits through the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.Eligible teachers will receive two Act 48 credits issued by the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit. This class introduces you to the fundamentals of designing in a linear perspective. After some principles have been presented, creative application in various subject matters will be explored. Marino’s American Eatery will be running a Harry Potter themed chef specials menu and Butterbeer cheesecake to pair with the Yellow Bridge Brewing collaboration (Butterscotch White Stout). Don’t miss this DIY Upcycle and Make Halloween Costume Workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This workshop is facilitated by skilled artists who specialize in helping others unlock their creativity and bring their ideas to life! Many supplies will be provided such as basic art supplies, found objects, various donated craft items, tools, fabric scraps, old clothing and more. Bringing something that you want to work with is recommended. There’s a suggested donation of $5 to cover nonrenewable supplies such as glue sticks and paints.
