The third annual Summer in the City event, organized by Shop Greensburg and Think Greensburg, will be held on Saturday June 24 in Downtown Greensburg.
Everyone in the Greensburg community of all ages are encouraged to come out and enjoy a fun filled day of activities, live performances and lots of delicious food! The event will be held in the Pitt/Penn parking lot located on South Pennsylvania Avenue.
Free admission for Summer in the City will be held for the public from 10:30-3 p.m. To begin the event, guests can watch their furry friends walk in a Pet Parade at 10:30 a.m. starting at Pedagogy and ending at the Pitt/Penn Lot.
Activities during this free event include backyard games, children’s activities, a Critter Corner, caricatures, a chalk art contest, balloon entertainment, a dunking booth, a firetruck, search and rescue demonstration, a pinata, and The Great Gem Dig.
Summer in the City will have live performances for the public to watch and enjoy, such as Opening Ceremonies at 11 a.m. and ‘Disney Princesses’ from the Westmoreland Performing Arts at 12:30 p.m.
There will be a variety of food options for children and adults to choose from during the event. These include Ash & Kris Food Truck, Barry’s Italian Ice, Miss Meatball, The Caffeinated Cat Cafe and Downtown Restaurants.

The fun doesn’t end just yet! A ticketed event for Summer in the City will be from 5-8 p.m. With tons of activities for guests of all ages, there will be a dunking booth, corn hole competition, paint ‘n sip, adult and children pinatas and backyard games. Live music will be played during the event from The Phisbins.
Tickets are $10 per person and you can purchase them at ShopGreensburgPA.com or local shops. Included with purchasing a ticket, adults will get one free wine tasting from vendors, such as Bella Terra Vineyards, Laurel Highlands Meadery, La Vigneta Winery, Raspberry Acres Winery. Stonebridge Brewing Company and The Kentlee. An event drinking vessel and two swings at the pinata are also included with purchasing a ticket!
