Sunday, July 1

S. PA Ave Parklet Cleanup

Join the Downtown Greensburg Project by celebrating its 3rd anniversary by giving back to the community and cleaning up the parquet on S. PA Ave. Donors and volunteers needed! 

Patsy in the Park

Hosted by Friends of South Greensburg Park, enjoy this free family-friendly concert in South Greensburg Community Park starting at 4pm! Pack a picnic or bring a cooler (no glass bottles). 

Free Summer Concert in the Park

The Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra invites you to celebrate the Fourth of July with them at St. Clair Park. Family and friends are encouraged to enjoy classics, patriotic favorites and pops including selections from the Sound of Music, Little Mermaid, Armed Forces Salute and much more. Donations are welcomed and music-inspired crafts will be available for kids!

All About You! Free Admission Sunday

On the first Sunday of each month, admission to The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is free. It’s a great day to bring all of your friends and family!

Wednesday, July 4

Freedom 5K Run and Walk

Start your morning with a 5K Run & Walk taking place at Lynch Field beginning at 8:30am. Team categories are available and prizes will be given to top placing participants. The 5K is a signup event only that includes a kids sparkler run afterwards! Benefits from the event will be given to the American Heart Association. 

Fourth of July Tours at Hanna’s Town

Celebrate America’s birthday by visiting the Historic Hanna’s Town, a Revolutionary War settlement. The guided tours will illustrate how Hanna’s Town played an important role in the events before, during and after the war that created the United States of America.

44th Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival

Enjoy live music, great ethic foods and shopping at the Artist Market. Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate summer during this four day event! Festival runs July 5-8.

TGIS – The Bricks

This acoustic trio emphasizes classic acoustic rock including selections from America, Van Morrison, James Taylor, Zac Brown Band and many more. Hosted by The Palace Theatre and Westmoreland Cultural Trust, enjoy this live performance from 6pm – 9:30pm.

Free Workshop – Small Business Basics

Entrepreneurs can learn the most valuable information for starting their own business or looking to improve their existing skills!  This free workshop is hosted at The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library.

Party in the Parking Lot

Hosted by Mr. Toad’s, there will be an all-day cookout and beer trucks available at the best party in July! See performances by Forest and the Sea, Craig & the Good Time Gang, Supper Break String Band and Habatat.

Antiques & Collectables Market

Starting at 7:30am and happening the 2nd Sunday of each month (May-October), visit over 100 vendors at Historic Hanna’s Town for a variety of one-of-a-kind items.

Monday, July 9

City Council Meeting

Starting at 7pm, the meeting is open to the public and is held in Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Greensburg City Hall. 

Tuesday, July 10

July’s Tuesday’s Together

This meeting is an AM meeting starting at 9am and will include coffee and confections for everyone to enjoy! Bring your favorite mug and discuss the topic of Passive & Diversified Income. 

Summer Philharmonic Concert

Enjoy a free summer concert at Seton Hill University’s Performing Arts Center performed by the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra Academy of Music’s Summer Philharmonic. This is open to the public and includes Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, Borodin’s Symphony No. 2 – 1st mvt, John William’s Selections from Jurassic Park and more!

GCT Volunteer Open House

Anyone and Everyone interested in volunteering to ensure that Greensburg Civic Theatre can launch its 67th season, please attend one of two Open House dates to learn how You can contribute to LIVE THEATRE for adults and youth in our region! 

Save the Strays Guest Bartending Event

Join Parkwood Inn for a friendly guest bartending competition benefiting Wayward Whiskers Animal Rescue! There will be 50/50, Jello Shots and basket raffles! It is sure to be a fun evening!

Trio Phonon

Trio Phonon is the second in the 2018 Summer Chamber Music series at Unity Chapel. Donations benefit the programs of the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra Youth Orchestra. The even is general admission at the door, costing only $10 per person.

TGIS – Bad Boy Blues Band

See members Bob Boyle, Vinnie DeFloria, Dave Zajdel and Ned Stokes perform a mixture of old-style wonder blues music with a touch of classic rock. Hosted by The Palace Theatre and Westmoreland Cultural Trust, enjoy this live performance from 6pm – 9:30pm.

Art on Tap

It’s time for happy hour at The Westmoreland once again! Enjoy live music by Glenn Cawood, an art scavenger hunt, light bites from Elegant Catering and drinks, including beer from All Saints Brewing Company. This month’s sponsor is Penn State University New Kensington/Penn State University New Kensington Alumni Society.

Inspired by William Holbrook Beard’s Five Bears in The Art of Giving exhibition, families are encouraged to pack a picnic to enjoy in The Westmoreland’s garden and on their patio. Don’t forget your teddy bears and join them for fun entertainment and activities!

Photo Walk Through Greensburg

A representative of the Westmoreland County Historical Society will be taking individuals on a photographic tour of downtown Greensburg starting at 9am. The architecture and history of the city will be discussed along with interior tours of The Palace Theatre and Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. For more information, check out this article

Please join the YWCA Westmoreland County for an informative panel discussion event featuring six of our YWCA Rising Star Awardees. “Helping Women Excel in the Workforce.” The panelists and moderator will discuss their views on overcoming career obstacles and challenges; the importance of networking and mentorship; how employers can encourage women’s leadership; finding a life-work balance and more.

TGIS – Gary Pratt & Dawn Noelle

Gary and Dawn sang together in their high school days and are now performing during TGIS. Gary has a deep love and appreciation for country music which is apparent during his performances. Westmoreland Heritage Trail Chapter has partnered again with the Five Star Trail Chapter. All proceeds will benefit both chapters.

Summer Yappy Hour at Petagogy Greensburg

Donna the Buffalo at SummerSounds

Known as one of the most dynamic and determined bands touring America since 1989, come witness a performance full of a wide variety of genres.
