Looking for fun outdoor activities for your kids this fall? Registration for many of the Recreation Department’s programs is open now, but closes this week!
After school programs are available for kids in grades K-5! The after school program will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00pm. There are two different sessions for this program; the first being September 15th through October 15th and the second October 20th through November 19th. Your kids will love being able to participate in fun exercise and classroom activities twice a week with the Greensburg Recreation staff! The program is $60 for Greensburg-Salem residents and $65 for non-residents.
If your kids have ever wanted to play wiffle ball, here’s the perfect opportunity to get them involved! The Rec. Dept. is offering wiffle ball from 5-6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays for kids under 12. Wiffle ball is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents and will take place from September 14th through October 21st at Lynch Field. Don’t have a bat? You can borrow one from the Rec. Dept!
The Rec. Dept. is offering a kickball program for kids 12 and under also at Lynch Field! Participants can choose between coming on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm. Kickball will occur from September 14th through October 22nd. It is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents.
There will also be weekly (free!) community background games at Lynch Field! Come on down every Friday from 5:30-7pm starting this week and continuing through October 9th. This week, come on down for a game of hide and seek tag, or join next week for capture the flag! These games are open to all ages, and no registration is required.
An in-house soccer league will also be offered through the Rec. Dept! The league is open to kids ages 4-10, and the season runs from September through October. There are U10, U8, and U6 teams. Practices are one to two weekday evenings a week with games on Saturdays. Some games may even be against Hempfield Rec. teams for extra fun! The league is $50 for residents and $60 for non-residents, and the fee includes a t-shirt jersey.
If your kids want to get faster and and more athletic, then the Rec. Dept. has the camp for you! The NEW Speed and Agility Camp is open to all athletes in grades K-6, and will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6pm from September 28th through October 28th at Lynch Field. The program costs $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.
