The third annual College Connect event is to be hosted Thursday, September 28 during the Greensburg Night Market as a way to welcome students to Greensburg and connect the community, City and local institutions.
Seton Hill University, St. Vincent College, Westmoreland County Community College and University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will be present to connect with the community and their students.
Set for 5:30 to 9 p.m., the free event will feature a caricature artist, Steel City Mobile Mini Golf and dance performances by Seton Hill University Dance Team at 6:30pm and Dance Major and Minors at 7:45pm. All College Connect activities along with institution information tables will be set up on South Pennsylvania Avenue in the Moore/Becker Parking Lot.
Students from the above universities and colleges will be able to receive a Student Food Voucher with a valid Student ID during the event. This voucher can be used at select Ready to Eat food vendors at the September 28 Greensburg Night Market. Students can get a voucher at the Downtown Greensburg Project Tent in the Moore/Becker Lot on South Pennsylvania Avenue.
Students are a huge part of this community,” said Jeff Raykes, Greensburg’s City Planner. “We’re excited to celebrate and bring together the universities and colleges with the Greensburg community.”
Seton Hill University, the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Saint Vincent College and Westmoreland County Community College all have partnered with the city for the event, helping with funding and planning. Other partners include the Greensburg Community Development Corporation, Greensburg Business and Professional Association and the Downtown Greensburg Project.
